This is a collection of video and article links which outlines the parallel rise of the modern Gay Civil Rights movement and its opposing evangelical ‘Christian’, New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) a.k.a. Dominionism/ Kingdom Now/Replacement Theology movement in America (and elsewhere).

If you only have the time to read six articles, here they are:

Don’t feel like reading? Then listen to this recording of a Christian radio show which warns of the theocratic NAR’s deceptive heresies, the menace they pose, and how increasing numbers of innocent Christians (and voters) are being caught up in them.

| Texas Gov. Rick Perry Partnering with New Apostolic Groups for Houston “Call to Prayer”: via @addthis

Summary: “Another politician joins forces with the apostles.  Texas Governor Rick Perry is leading an event in Houston on August 6 with the “apostolic and prophetic” movement, including leaders from Lou Engle’s “The Call,” Mike Bickle’s International House of Prayer, and the American Family Association. The Call is a virulently anti-gay and anti-abortion event held in stadiums and large venues,  including one in Uganda that featured speakers promoting the “Kill the Gays” bill…

…Politicians competing for the support of this prayer warrior network prior to the presidential primaries include Sarah Palin, who has an over twenty-year relationship with Alaskan Apostle Mary Glazier; Newt Gingrich, who was anointed by Lou Engle on an internationally televised broadcast in 2009; Michelle Bachman, Rick Santorum, and now, apparently, Rick Perry…”

| The Social Transformation Conference & the 7M Movement: via @addthis

Summary: The New Apostolic Reformation’s heretical drive to convert America into a witch-hunting (seriously), theocratic horror show–and they (via their proxies & cohorts in the GOP) are gaining increasing control in a number of States. (BTW, the article includes a link to the folks at Truth Wins Out who also acknowledge this menace.)

| Newark’s Prayer-Based Crime Fighting Effort Isn’t Working: via @addthis

Summary: “A radical notion: who needs cops? Just pray down crime. But in Newark, where the murder rate has risen over 70% from 2010 to 2011, the approach doesn’t seem to be working very well. Privatizing government services has long been a key goal of the American religious right, and as a 2-part new Talk To Action report details (1, 2), the push for education vouchers has been orchestrated by right wing funders dedicated to eradicating public schools altogether. But voucher initiatives are presented as secular. Then, there’s prayer-based crime fighting, an even more radical privatization scheme…”

In SECTION THREE there are some LGBTQ-related resource links.

Since the late 1970’s the religious right in the United States (and elsewhere) has exploited still-widespread homophobia to raise a considerable amount of money which is being used to finance the political aspirations of those who appear to be succeeding in their efforts to transform the U.S. (and other countries) into a theocracy ruled under Old Testament law. In such a State there will be no place for democracy or social & religious pluralism of any kind.

In fact, such violations of the separation of church and state take place with disturbing frequency in American government, at local, state and Federal levels…”

Reparative Therapy
The term “reparative therapy” refers to psychotherapy aimed at eliminating homosexual desires and is used by people who do not think homosexuality is one variation within human sexual orientation, but rather still believe homosexuality is a mental disorder. The most important fact about “reparative therapy,” also sometimes known as “conversion” therapy, is that it is based on an understanding of homosexuality that has been rejected by all the major health and mental health professions. The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Counseling Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, the National Association of School Psychologists, and the National Association of Social Workers, together representing more than 477,000 health and mental health professionals, have all taken the position that homosexuality is not a mental disorder and thus there is no need for a “cure.”

BTB, CNN Reveal Story behind George Rekers ‘Sissy Boy’ Experiment | Ex-Gay Watch: via @addthis

“In 1970, a five-year-old boy named Kirk Murphy was subjected to an ex-gay experiment. Under the care of Dr Ivor Lovaas and George Rekers, then a doctoral student, of UCLA, he underwent therapy to eliminate supposed effeminate behaviors.

In 1974, Lovaas and Rekers jointly published a paper about the boy they renamed “Kraig,” heralding his treatment for “childhood cross-gender problems” a success and claiming he had been transformed from a gender-confused homosexual-in-waiting to a healthy, heterosexual young man.

On the back of this study, Rekers built a career as an anti-gay activist and a supposed expert in childhood sexual development. He co-founded the Family Research Council and championed reparative therapy to turn gay men straight.

In 2003, Kirk, aged 38 years old and gay, committed suicide.

In 2010, George Rekers was photographed with a male escort who had accompanied him on a trip overseas. His reputation was already ruined by the time rent-boy Jo-Vanni Roman, aka “Lucien,” outed Rekers as a homosexual and revealed the allegedly erotic details of their relationship.

Now Kirk’s story is in the media spotlight. Last night, Jim Burroway of Box Turtle Bulletin revealed the results of an investigation into the Rekers experiment and the real story behind “Kraig.” What Are Little Boys Made Of? contains extensive interviews with family members, and several supporting documents giving insight into Rekers, the study and its tragic outcome.

CNN has carried out a parallel investigation, the results of which will be aired in three installments of “The Sissy Boy Experiment: Uncovering the Truth,” beginning tonight (Tuesday, June 7) at 1opm ET on Anderson Cooper 360. George Rekers will appear.”

“The Apostles and Prophets of the New Apostolic Reformation view their postdenominational movement as the future face of the Protestant church and the end of denominations as we know them. Their ideology and “relational networks” have taken root in the block of 400 million independent charismatics, sometimes referred to as neo-charismatics or neo-Pentecostals. This is an often overlooked mega-block of Christianity that is larger than all Protestant denominations combined, according to world missions statisticians. “A story of an estimated 15,000 children in Africa’s Niger Delta being denounced by Christian pastors as witches and wizards and then killed, tortured or abandoned by their own families.

Two-and-a-half-year-old Ellin is one such child. Found at the side of the road, her body having been severely burnt with boiling water. Nwanakwo, eight years old, had acid poured over him after being labeled a wizard, and later died.

Return to Africa’s Witch Children is a documentary that follows the work of Gary Foxcroft, an Englishman whose charity, Stepping Stones, raises funds to help care for more than 150 children accused of witchcraft, and blamed for catastrophes, death and famine. Narrated by Sophie Okonedo.”

| American connections to African witchhunts: via @addthis

“Throughout Africa — mainly in Christian countries — vast numbers of children have been abandoned by their parents, or worse, often maimed or tortured, on suspicion of being “witches.”

The witch hunts aren’t just a resurgence of indigenous beliefs.  They are part of a new and rapidly growing worldwide religious movement within the Pentecostal/charismatic branch of Christianity.

Aggressive crusades against alleged malevolent “witches” are encouraged by the “spiritual warfare” doctrines of some major leaders of one of the world’s fastest-growing international religious movements, the “apostolic and prophetic” wing of Pentecostal/Charismatic Christianity…

…Traditionally, to most Christians, the term “spiritual warfare” has usually referred to an internal moral struggle.  However, to growing numbers of “apostolic and prophetic” leaders such as C. Peter Wagner and Ed Silvoso, “spiritual warfare” means things like exorcism, witch hunts (a.k.a. “spiritual mapping”), burning non-Christian religious artifacts, and “discipling” whole nations — including their governments, not just individual citizens.

A leading network within this movement, the New Apostolic Reformation, has an explicitly theocratic goal, the “seven mountains mandate”:  they explicitly desire to take over seven spheres of power in society including government.  And they aim to eradicate what they see as demonic influences, including gays and all non-Christian religions.  Their successes in some countries, such as Uganda, have had dire consequences such as Uganda’s kill-the-gays bill…”

Dominionism and the Rise of Christian Imperialism: via @addthis

Dominionism in brief:

“Throughout the 2000 year history of Christianity there has always been a vein of dominionism embedded in the strata of doctrines. This seam has ebbed and flowed for 20 centuries, sometimes submerged, sometimes exposed. Whenever out in the open, it has given rise to horrible abuses done in the name of Christ. In the early 21st century, once again this vein is now showing and active. Keep in mind:

Dominionism is ALWAYS an aberration of true Christian theology.
A remnant of believers has always opposed it, often suffering a martyr’s fate at the hands of intolerant dominionists.”

His congregation “prayer-walked” nearly every street of the city…He staked out gay bars, inviting men to come to his church; his whole congregation pitched itself into invisible battles with demonic forces, sometimes in front of public buildings.”

“David Barton is in many ways emblematic of politics in Fox News – Tea Party America, in which facts are distorted in service of a right-wing ideological agenda, and in which political opponents are denigrated as enemies of faith and freedom. Barton’s work has repeatedly been debunked by historians and scholars, yet conservative political leaders and pundits continue to promote his manipulations in order to help Republicans get elected and in order to advance the Religious Right’s – and now the Tea Party’s – political agenda. It is urgently important for scholars, public officials, and responsible media outlets to vigorously challenge efforts by Barton, his supporters, and the movements they represent to miseducate current and future generations of Americans on the Constitution and the abiding American values of religious liberty, equal opportunity, and equality under the law.”

Texas Textbooks: What happened, what it means, and what we can do about it | People For the American Way: via @addthis

Religious Right leaders in Texas have been waging war against science and history for the past few decades.  A primary target and battleground has been the state’s public schools, in particular the statewide approval process for textbooks.  People For the American Way Foundation first started working with Texans to resist Religious Right takeovers of textbooks back in the 1980s.

The Religious Right has invested so heavily in Texas textbooks because of the national implications. School districts in Texas have to buy books from a state-approved list, and Texas is such an enormous market that textbook publishers will generally do whatever they can to get on that list.  Textbooks written and edited to meet Texas standards end up being used all over the country. So Religious Right leaders in Texas can doom millions of American students to stunted, scientifically dubious science books and ideologically slanted history and social studies books…

…McLeroy and his allies stripped any mention of the age of the universe from the science standards (those millions and billions of years are annoying to young-earth creationists who insist the universe is only 6,000 years old). In addition, the new standards will essentially require the teaching of evolution denialism and climate change denialism.

The most recent battle, over the standards for new social studies textbooks, culminated in May with the adoption of social studies standards that give the far-right faction and its Religious Right advisors far too many victories in their efforts to replace history with ideology and turn public school classrooms into Heritage Foundation seminars…”

Betsy DeVos credits her organizations with moving many tens of thousands of children into private schools, predominately religious-based schools, which can teach as much bigotry against other religions and those who are different, as they choose.  There has been little discussion of this in the media’s coverage of the voucher wars…

“A who’s who of Religious Right leaders have come together for a 12-part series called “Resisting the Green Dragon” which seeks to expose how the environmental movement is out to control the world and destroy Christianity:

Resisting the Green Dragon is therefore particularly timely because it not only refutes the scientific case for dangerous manmade warming and other “crises,” but also exposes how environmental organizations use sophisticated media campaigns and even seek increased global governance to promote their agenda among policy makers, religious leaders, and youth.

“One of the greatest threats to society and the church today is the multifaceted environmentalist movement,” says Cornwall Alliance founder and national spokesman Dr. E. Calvin Beisner. “There isn’t an aspect of life that it doesn’t seek to force into its own mold.”

FTR I perceive a HUGE distinction between those wilfully ignorant and hateful hypocrites who abuse the essence of their religion of choice by cherry-picking through it for political ammo, and those humbly enlightened & sincere students of the Almighty who understand that how we humans choose treat one another forms the truest expression of our professed beliefs.

Movement Advancement Project | Talking About Suicide & LGBT Populations: via @addthis

The Bottom Line:

“Expansive news coverage of several recent suicide deaths of youth known or believed to be gay has resulted in an unprecedented national discussion about suicide risk among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. Some of that coverage, however, oversimplified or sensationalized a number of the underlying issues, and in some cases may have created the potential for a phenomenon known as suicide contagion.

Talking About Suicide & LGBT Populations provides detailed recommendations for more safely discussing suicide in public conversations and social media, while at the same time expanding public conversations about the well-being of LGBT people, promoting the need for family support and acceptance, and encouraging help-seeking by LGBT people who may be contemplating suicide.”

For the Bible Tells Me So: via @addthis

“An exploration of the intersection between religion and homosexuality in the U.S. and how the religious right has used its interpretation of the Bible to stigmatize the gay community.”

For the Bible Tells Me So – Watch Free Documentaries Online – Daniel G. Karslake: via @addthis

“We meet five Christian families, each with a gay or lesbian child. Parents talk about their marriages and church-going, their children’s childhood and coming out, their reactions, and changes over time.

The stories told by these nine parents and four adult children alternate with talking heads – Protestant and Jewish theologians – and with film clips of fundamentalist preachers and pundits and news clips of people in the street.

They discuss scripture and biblical scholarship. A thesis of the film is that much of Christianity’s homophobia represents a misreading of scripture, a denial of science, and an embrace of quack psychology. The families call for love.”

There is no consensus among scientists

The 911 Ripple Effect Has Begun: via @addthis

The ‘9/11 Truthers’ were marginalized to tin foil hat territory in the general public’s mind, via a series of prime time hatchet jobs which are laid out in the following documentary:

Most folks now dismiss 9/11 skeptics, even though all the professionals (which includes 1,400 Degreed, Licensed and verified Architects & Engineers) in many of these links have their doubts too:

After viewing 9/11 Ripple Effect I too am now convinced that the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 were part of a false flag operation aimed at strangling domestic civil rights and manipulating U.S. foreign policy.

There’s W-A-Y too many unanswered questions and inconsistencies in the official account of what happened before, during & after the attacks, and there was an obvious & sustained effort on the part of the corporate-controlled media to trivialize any lingering concerns.

But how could so many individuals in numerous positions of control be induced to coordinate a mass attack on their own countrymen?

There’s only one way: they’d all have to share a belief system which transcends the constitution of the United States and any concern for the lives of their fellow citizens, and which is also aimed at pursuing a conquest/destiny greater than themselves.

This movement (which began in the mid-1970’s) is the most likely source of said belief system:

Summary: The GOP is in bed with the NAR in spite of its heresies.

If you don’t want to live in a theocracy at some point in the future, then you should start reading the above links on the New Apostolic Reformation.

Oh wait! If you’re LGBT or a liberal or a member of a non-Christian religion or even a member of a Christian denomination deemed to be false, then you won’t BE living once a theocracy is in control.

Please read everything on as though your life depends on it–because it does.

War Is A Racket, by Major General Smedley Butler, 1935: via @addthis

“War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small ‘inside’ group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.”

This is primarily a rebuttal of Zeitgeist: The Movie Part I (on religion) which starts off as an expose of Part I’s alleged factual errors (re disputing the historical existence of Jesus) but soon drifts into an at times poorly spelled allegation of a U.S. Democrat-implicated, Luciferian & Freemason-driven conspiracy to impose ‘one world religion’ at the expense of Christianity.

(Ironically said rebuttal alleges the opposite of what is actually afoot. Please see the links in the ‘A MAJOR AND CLANDESTINE INFLUENCE ON POLITICAL POWER IN AMERICA (AND ELSEWHERE)’ section further above.)
